Bug report Metadata handling

For 2-3 months now we’ve observed that song title containing a comma aren’t displayed properly in the chat; everything before the last comma is truncated and we only see the last part.

Took the time to look things up along the chain; Sam Broadcaster, Azuracast and ShoutCast were eliminated as potential suspects…

The last link in the chain; namely Minnit, must therefore be the culprit. Could you please investigate at your end… Thanks in advance;

Thanks for the heads up.

Shoutcast sends this as “CSV” (Comma-separated values). For instance, your chat’s most recent song is sent to us as:

2,1,6,200,2,128,Ginette & Raymond Lavoie - Garde moi ta memoire

The idea is that you internally separate the data by commas, and grab the 7th entry, then there’s your song title. Ideally commas within the song title are encoded, but obviously that’s not always the case…

The bot is now updated so that, rather than grabbing the 7th entry, it simply removes the first 6 entries then outputs the rest. E.g. instead of the 7th entry:

2,1,6,200,2,128,Valaire - Tote Bag (ft. Mike Clay, Fanny Bloom & Luis Clavis) - Speedy en ondes

It’ll focus on everything after the 6th:

2,1,6,200,2,128,Valaire - Tote Bag (ft. Mike Clay, Fanny Bloom & Luis Clavis) - Speedy en ondes

Let us know if you run into any other issues.
